ZRC Grands Fonds série 2
Details
1964 very rare diving watch from the french brand ZRC, established in Annecy, France. ZRC was a supplier for the Marine Nationale. This one is one of the first série 2 issued, having the Felsa 4000 movement which was also in the série 1. It has a bezel from the série 3, which was maybe replaced by a navy watchmaker, this and the non corresponding back case serial nb would in fact proove that the watch is of military origins. The peculiar crown at 6 had a very interesting and useful trademark system: the steel bracelet’s link shape made it impossible to wear if the crown wasn’t locked, to prevent it from geting damaged by water.
Overall Condition:
The watch shows signs of use but is in overall good conditions. The bezel rotates well and is of the earlier série 3, the ones with an applied luminous triangle at 12. The black no date dial is a pure marvel, very legible and its beauty is even reinforced by an incredible dome glass.
The watch is sold with its original steel strap. The 2 série 3 links for perlon strap can be purchased separately.
Dimensions:
35mm
Movement:
Felsa 4000 self-winding movement.
