Doxa Sub 300 Professional “no T”
Details
Stainless steel flat tonneau case diving watch from 1967 by Doxa. This example is from the rare first series, with its thin case and smaller overall size / dial size. The legend says that only a hundred of these have survived, approximatively. Jacques-Yves Cousteau himself was one of the divers who contributed to the creating process of the watch. This is the orange dial, Professional, the black one being marked Sharkhunter and sunburst grey is Searambler.
At that time, Doxa had studied which colour was more visible-easy to read under low light conditions and the orange colour had “won”. In fact, you easily understand this seeing the small black square on the top of the second hand litterally popping out of the bright orange, no tritium needed there!
Overall Condition:
The watch is in great conditions. Dial and writings are pristine, the tritium has developped a nice patina. The case has never been polished. The watch comes with its Expandro ajustable beads of rice bracelet, a true wonder in terms of wearability and precision fitting.
Dimensions:
42mm without crown.
