Rolex Submariner 168000

Details

Stainless steel Oyster Case Submariner watch by Rolex from 1986 bearing the “triple 0” transition reference 168000 which was apparently produced for 7/9 months only. Sapphire crystal, matte dial, tritium indexes and hands. The main difference with the 16800 was the use of the new analergic steel (904L).

The fun fact is that it is not an official Rolex reference, it’s not in the catalogues, the third zero was just added after 16800, and boxes would have the 16800 stickers.

Overall Condition:

The watch is in great conditions with few signs of use. There is a beautiful beginning of cream patina on hands and 12 o’clock bezel mark.
