Details
Stainless steel super compressor diving watch from 1960’s with a depthgauge included between the bezel and the dial, more precisely a Bourdon tube pressure gauge. This reference of the professional toolwatch was spotted on board of Jacques Cousteau’s Calypso (see pic)
The very first Depthomatic was a single crown 38mm watch with a peculiar dial looking like an old telephone: arabic numbers in round circled indexes, an elapsed time bezel and the depth scale on the dial. Then came this present watch, with a more robust case, broad arrow hour hand, the depth scale on the bezel, and an internal rotating bezel for the elapsed time. Overall Condition:
The watch is in magnificient conditions. The bezel retains its scale – which is not so common on these watches – the dial, hands and overall lume are pristine. Backcase shows signs of wear but all writings are still well readable. The bourdon tube is in very good shape, with numerous tiny air bubbles.
The watch is sold with a green Nato strap.
